Help your child move beyond passive screen time and use technology to create, serve and lead.

This completely free program brings together same-age Sangat to explore careers, build real businesses, develop financial literacy and serve meaningful community causes.

Sikh Family Hub’s Senior Youth Lead, Maha Singh, founded and leads the program under the supervision of Sikh Family Hub mentors. 

Sikh Family Hub has no financial interest in this initiative. It is offered as a sincere Seva to help build confident, compassionate and capable young leaders for the Panth and the wider community.

What Will Your Child Build?

Every participant will work toward developing:

One interest-based business connected to STEM, technology, art, crafts, education, media, community services or another field they genuinely enjoy and may wish to pursue.

One charity partnership that allows them to support a meaningful cause, donate at least 10% of business profits and explore verified volunteer opportunities.

One leadership portfolio containing authentic business, service and leadership experience for future résumés, university applications and scholarship opportunities.

The long-term goal is to give students the skills and experience to continue developing their business toward age 18 and beyond.

From Interest to Impact

Students will learn how to identify potential customers, conduct market research, study similar businesses, test ideas and find something people may be willing to pay for.

With parental supervision, they will develop a business name, purpose, brand, product or service, pricing plan and safe marketing strategy. When appropriate, they may create a prototype, collect feedback, build a parent-managed social-media presence and begin making sales.

The program is designed to help students build something they love, that other people value and that serves a purpose beyond profit.

Business With Seva Built In

Every student will choose a charity or community cause and commit at least 10% of their business profits to supporting it.

Students will learn that entrepreneurship can generate income while also practising Seva, raising awareness and helping communities thrive.

Where possible, students may volunteer directly with their selected charity. Volunteer hours must be arranged and verified by the charity; donations or program participation alone do not automatically qualify as volunteer hours.

Financial Literacy and Leadership

Financial literacy is built into the program. Students will learn about pricing, revenue, expenses, profit, record-keeping, saving, reinvesting, donating, risk and the basic purpose of long-term investing.

Through real responsibilities, they will also develop initiative, communication, creativity, teamwork, decision-making, accountability, resilience, problem-solving, public speaking and community leadership.

These are lifelong skills that can support success in education, entrepreneurship, employment and service.

Community Mentorship and Career Exploration

When available, adult entrepreneurs, educators and community professionals will be invited to provide live webinars, seminars, mentorship, industry insight and feedback.

A career counsellor may also help students connect their interests and experiences with course planning, career exploration, portfolios, university applications and scholarship opportunities.

Senior youth leaders will facilitate the program under adult mentor supervision, creating a space where young people can learn with and from their peers.

Mentor and counsellor participation depends on availability. The program cannot guarantee sales, income, volunteer hours, university admission or scholarships.

Parent Supervision

Parents or guardians must supervise social media, customer communication, banking, purchases, sales, donations, volunteer arrangements, tax or legal requirements and the use of their child’s personal information.

All social-media activity must follow platform age requirements.

Attendance Commitment

This program is free, but each place is valuable. Regular attendance and active participation are required.

If a student misses two consecutive sessions without advance notice, their place may be offered to another student on the waitlist.

We understand that emergencies happen. Families should contact us as soon as reasonably possible when a student cannot attend.
